Ode to My Father is a riveting film that through the story
of one family, outlines the history of a nation. The film depicts modern Korean
history from the 1950s to the present day, through the life of an ordinary man
who experiences events like the Hungnam Evacuation of 1951 during the Korean
War; the government's decision to send nurses and miners to Germany in 1960 as
well as the fall out of the Vietnam War.
